African Signs
Throughout Africa signs above shops along the road, vehicles and walls contain colorful painted advertising and art, designed to attract the attention of passers by and potential customers among them. Hairdressers, restaurants, businesses garage, butchers, tailors - many shop began with a prominent ad on a sign and became a business.
While photographing African signs the author captured a unique piece of African culture, which is doomed to eventually disappear by the increasing digitization in Africa. A tribute to the many artists who with brush and paint bring color and vibrancy into their villages and towns.
