Symposium Colonial Nostalgia
On Thursday 17 March 2011, the Tropenmuseum organized a symposium with the theme Colonial Nostalgia.
Several experts gave their critical reflection on the development of the museum within the context of Dutch colonial and postcolonial history. Then followed a discussion on the present role of the museum. The symposium was the start of a annual series of several symposia organized by the Tropenmuseum. The next symposium will take place on September 22, 2011: Popular Imagination: Fiction with a message.
