Make an African mini-mask
Creative activity for children aged 4-12
These miniature masks were made by the Pende people of the Democratic Republic
of Congo, a country in central Africa. They are called ikhokho. Which means ‘cut or
polished things’ in Congolese. They show the wearer’s sense of beauty and style.
Several original masks are displayed in the Africa section on the second floor of the Tropenmuseum.
For: children aged 4-12 years
Where: creative activity area in the exhibition Travelling Tales
Admission fee: from € 8,- per person (incl. entrance)
Please note that reservation is not possible, children can join if there are seats available.
