The Tropenmuseum is involved in various, divergent international projects in many different countries.
From start to finish, the exhibition Borneo cultures in Brunei and Dutch collections was collaboratively developed by the staff of both museums, presenting a true dialogue, both literally and figuratively. Even the texts in the exhibition were written jointly. More about the collaboration Tropenmuseum and Brunei Museum.
For the last three years the exhibitions created by Tropenmuseum Junior have also been shown in Suriname. The children’s museum Villa Zapakara presents them as personalised remakes. And with considerable success. More about Villa Zapakara.
The Tropenmuseum and the Mauritius Museums Council have completely renovated the Frederik Hendrik Museum on Mauritius. More about the Frederik Hendrik Museum.
The World of the Dodo is a permanent exhibition in the Natural History Museum at Port Louis, Mauritius. This exhibition features recently discovered bones of the dodo, film material from the current excavations, and an archive of images concerning the dodo and its related history.
