For children

For children from the age of 1 there are lots of fun things to do in the Tropenmuseum. Every weekend the smallest children (under 6) and their parents can visit the Kartini Wing, where they can enjoy drawing, building and folding. For children aged 4 and over there are special children’s routes through the museum. All children’s activities are in Dutch only.

Tropenmuseum Junior

Tropenmuseum Junior is a lively museum set up specifically for children aged 6 to 12, where they can bring a foreign culture to life with their own hands and feet. Every weekend, in school holidays, on public holidays and on Wednesday afternoons there are special programmes. Information about starting times and prices can be found on the website. The programmes are in Dutch only.
